I have achieved one of my major dreams concerning art, music and dance. I have seen The Lord of the Dance! And I still am in 7th heaven. In order for everything to be complete I have to see Celtic Woman too, and only then I can truly say that I am pleased in the artistic field! :D
The show was last Thursday, but I didn't have time to write about it. Anyway...
It was amazing, it was beyond my imagination. I was speechless, and that happens very seldom. From music, to lights, to costumes, to dancers, everything was perfect. I never believed that a group of people could have such an amazing coordination, can move in such a harmony. I was astonished. I went with my mom, because she is also a fan of Michael Flatley and his shows, and from the first minute she started crying, she couldn't believe that she is actually there, watching that incredible show.
Of course, I had to capture it all on tape, it's like a tradition for us to film almost every important event or concert. We don't have a digital camera, because we thought that if we already have a video camera, a photo cam would be pretty much useless, so that is why we film events. But also because a movie is much more entertaining than photos, which are static, for we are not in "Harry Potter" where photos move! :D
The show was perfect. The dancers created a beautiful story on stage, taking you in this fantasy world where fairies dance and laugh, where love is mixed with war, where you have to be kind to others in order to be successful. It was a dreamland. The dancers were absolutely beautiful in every way. I was smiling during the whole show and I couldn't stop after it was finished. And when they started dancing on the song "The Lord of the Dance" people went wild, they clapped their hands and they were moving, it was a great moment. They also danced on this song in the end, and they even came for a bis which turned out in several bis-es! Another one of my favourite moments was the one with the Warlords and Don Dorcha, the bad guy who challenged the Lord of the Dance and wanted to take his title. The music from that part was so violent yet stunning. The singer, I don't know her name, but I'll find out, and the fiddlers, another great moment! I knew one of the songs (I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls - Celtic Woman) and I was singing and taping and the "footage" is a bit blurry in that part. :) The lights were used in an amazing way creating visual effects that blew your mind. Everything was perfect, I couldn't see a gap, a mistake, anything wrong, and I must confess that I didn't think that they would make any mistake. Absolutely perfect, and I can't stop myself from complimenting them. I even liked the guy who sold stuff like T-shirts or CD's & DVD's, because he had that Irish accent and it was lovely. The Polyvalent Hall was full, I think that about 100 chairs weren't occupied from about 2000, not taking into consideration the chairs that were placed in front of the stage. And it was incredible to see so many people resonating in the same way with the action from the stage.

So yes, 40 dancers entertained more that 1500 people on a beautiful Thursday evening.

I'm going to post a few photos from Rady's blog, you can find the rest of them on his blog (click it), and you can also click on the photos to view them in full size:
