Remember, remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder treason and plot...

Because of the date, and because I've seen a lot of images and gifs running on the internet with moments from the movie, I have decided to watch "V for Vendetta"...It was the first time, and I must say, it touched my soul! It reflects everything I feel towards my country and the people leading it...
It would be amazing if only a person could make a mass of people realize the lies they are living and convince them to rise against the ones who are supressing them in one way or another. History gives us many examples of such people who changed her face forever. Sadly, in my oppinion, it is almost impossible for such a thing to happen in our days. Just because people are scared. Scared of being caught, scared of being held responsible for the things they do, scared of dying for their beliefs. It's almost like we are scared of standing up for what we believe in. We prefer to live the lie of everything being perfect or almost perfect every day. We no longer have a bit of compassion for the people around us, for ourselves...I'm not saying that if common people rise against the ones leading them the world would be a better place. I'm just saying that we shouldn't be afarind anymore to speak our minds. I've been in the situation of not being able to say what I think because that could have brought me trouble. And it was not a pleasant feeling at all. It felt like I had my thoughts stuck in my throat, wanting to come out, but my mind kept reminding me to be careful not to let them out. How many times people with great ideas had to keep their mouths shut because others threatened them (in one way or another)?
It seems unreal what is happening, it's chaos, and no one can do anything to solve it. Because when someone is given power, they forget their ideas, principles and beliefs. Since I were young I always said that when I'll be a president I will help my people and improve their life. Now, after everything I know, I'm afraid that I would have to be a superwoman to keep all my promises, because once you have power, you also have a lot of people around you. And although you try to surround yourself with people you trust, one of them will definitely commit treason (which maybe is a harsh word, but I'll keep it like that) to you, and will force you to break your promises. That's what happened to Guy Fawkes and that's why the idea of restoring a Catholic monarch to the throne of Great Britain never made it, because someone comitted treason. (I wonder how would modern world would have looked like if their plan would have succeeded...). Ideas are bulletproof, and this we must keep in mind.

So yes, it is an amazing movie, and Hugo Weaving - "V" has an incerdible voice, that melts your heart and makes you fall in love with it. And today was a perfect moment to see it!

And my favourite quote:
"But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace sobriquet, to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. Voila! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. The visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."
